Level One Introduces:

• RHYTHM — quarter, half and whole notes, 4 time
• MELODY — RH, LH hand positions in C, five finger tunes
• HARMONY — melodic intervals, playing with both hands
• MUSIC NOTATION — musical alphabet, notes, staff, treble and bass clefs, upstems, downstems, repeat signs
• EAR TRAINING — musical questions and answers, phrases, imitating rhythm patterns and familiar tunes
• TECHNIQUE — FINGERcises, playing with curved, relaxed fingers
• CREATIVITY — writing short phrases, filling in missing melody notes, adding lyrics that rhyme
• NIV SCRIPTURES — connecting God’s Word to the music
• Optional DUET PARTS — a harmonic ‘foundation’ for the student solo
